"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens has come clear about the nude photos that took her fanbase by surprise when they were leaked back in 2007.
The 24 year-old actress was only 17 the first time that her photos were hacked and released on the Internet. Now, she has gone on the record about the incident , telling Paper magazine that, "That was just a really s**tty situation that sucked. That was by far the worst moment of my career." Yeah, and then it happened again in 2009 so that couldn't have been any better.
Not surprising when you think about it. From the very early age of 8, the California native had wanted to act, and act she did. Her first major role came at 15 when she landed a part on the sitcom, "Still Standing." Numerous commercials followed and then she got the lucky break that would catapult her (and her similarly green co-stars) into the stratosphere of celebrity -- the role of Gabriella Montez in "High School Musical."
From that moment forward her entire life as she'd known it changed. No longer "invisible" to the public, she was chased by paparazzi and never knew what hit her. And, when the nude photos started being leaked, it was a whole new breach of privacy. In 2009, the actress successfully sued the website moejackson.com for having posted "nude self portrait photographs taken on a mobile phone in a private home."
She later told Allure magazine that, "Whenever anybody asks me, would I do nudity in a film, if I say that it's something I'm not comfortable with, they're like, 'Bullshit, you've already done it.' If anything, it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It's screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistake."
