The Facebook co-founder and CEO has a nice fat check for $308.62 (no, that's not missing any extra zeroes) from PayPal waiting for him at the California State Controller's office, as first reported by BetaBeat.
The PayPal check appears to be nearly a decade old as the claim for it lists the Los Altos home that Zuckerberg rented when he first moved out to California in 2004 to work on Facebook.
Zuckerberg isn't the only tech figure to have some unclaimed cash waiting for him in California. The state currently has more than $6 billion in unclaimed checks from some 17.6 million individuals and businesses, including Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and Google co-founder Sergey Brin. Brin, in particular, has more than $1,000 worth of checks from Stanford University waiting for him.
It's not like Zuck (or Brin for that matter) need the extra cash. Zuckerberg's net worth is currently just under $14 billion, according to Bloomberg's billionaires index. But maybe the next time Facebook's stock tanks, Zuckerberg can console himself by finally claiming the check.
